Testing the Physical Limits of Everyday Technology: Battle Damage’s Samsung Smart TV

Summary

Battle Damage, a show that tests the physical limits of everyday technology, decided to test a Samsung Smart TV’s durability. They dropped the TV from a normal height, then from a higher height, and finally shot it with a potato gun charged up to 100 PSI. After each test, they checked to see if the TV still worked. Unfortunately, the TV did not survive the final test.

Introduction

Welcome to Battle Damage! We’re here to test the physical limits of everyday technology, and today we’re testing the durability of a Samsung Smart TV. This TV has a 120Hz refresh rate, but will that save it from the tests we have in store for it? We’re going to drop it from both a normal height and a higher height, and then shoot it with a custom potato gun charged up to 100 PSI. Will it survive all three tests? Let’s find out.

Testing the Samsung Smart TV’s Durability

As we mentioned earlier, we’re going to drop the TV from two different heights and then shoot it with a potato gun. We’ll start with dropping the TV from a normal height.

Dropped from a Normal Height

The TV is big, but the stand is wobbly, so we think the stand will absorb a lot of the initial impact. Roll action! The TV falls, hits the ground, and the screen is fine. We plug it in, and it’s a smart TV, so it knows how to fall. It’s like a cat. It survived the five-foot drop from a normal height. But what about a higher height?

Dropped from a Higher Height

Let’s drop the TV from a higher height now. Action! Oh no, it’s super loose! Everything’s jiggling inside. Okay, we’re plugging it in now, and…the screen is broken. This TV is dead.

Shot with a Potato Gun

For our final test, we’re breaking out the potato gun. We’ve tested this before in my backyard, so we’re pretty confident it will work. We’re aiming for soda cans but decided to give it a try on the TV as well. Here we go! Oh stop the car, it’s barely alive. There’s a mortal wound on the TV. Unfortunately, it’s not going to survive this test.

Conclusion

So there you have it. We put the Samsung Smart TV to the test, dropping it from both a normal height and a higher height, and then shooting it with a potato gun. While it survived the first drop, the TV ultimately could not withstand the extreme conditions we placed it under. We hope you enjoyed watching us put this TV to the test. Tune in next time to see what everyday technology we’ll test next on Battle Damage.
