This year, they are releasing five major games to players to enjoy. Currently available is Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD, a high definition remix of the best levels from the classic original. Rekateer is a Kinect game where users use their bodies to launch and guide cannonballs into a castle, similar to a first-person game Angry Birds. Deadlight is a 2D side-scroller game set in a post-apocalyptic world full of zombies. Hybrid is a first-person shooter created by the makers of the innovative Scribblenauts, which breaks all the rules of the genre. Lastly, Dust: An Elysian Tail is a gorgeous, hand-animated 2D side-scrolling action game. If you buy any three of these Summer of Arcade games, Microsoft will give you a bonus 400 points to spend on whatever you want.

To compete with Microsoft’s Summer of Arcade, Sony is also offering its own summer promotion, PSN Play. Sony is releasing four games to players, including The Expendables 2, a four-player cooperative shooter based on the star-studded action film franchise. Sound Shapes is a musical journey of surprise and delight on PlayStation Vita. Papo E. Yo is an intriguing indie game about the relationship between a boy and his father. Lastly, Counter Strike Global Offensive updates the classic competitive shooter series with PlayStation Move motion controller support.
