    Introduction

At Battle Damag, we are committed to showing the vulnerability of phones and ensuring they are never completely safe. Thus, we decided to battle test four popular iPhone cases to see which one could protect the iPhone from damage. Our team selected the LifeProof, Lunatic Extreme, Griffin Survivor Plus Catalyst, and OtterBox Defender as potential contenders.

    Q&A: Battle Testing iPhone Cases

Which are the four iPhone cases tested?

The iPhone cases we tested were the LifeProof, Lunatic Extreme, Griffin Survivor Plus Catalyst, and OtterBox Defender. Each of these cases has its own unique features that claim to protect the phone from damage.

Can an iPhone withstand a drop test with the LifeProof case?

The LifeProof case claims to surpass US military standards for dropping, but in our testing, it failed to protect the phone. We threw the phone as hard as we could on the screen, and the front came off. The phone came out looking terrible, and the screen did not turn on, though it buzzed as if it was on. The phone also appeared to be bent.

How did the Lunatic Extreme and Griffin Survivor Plus Catalyst fare in the testing?

The Lunatic Extreme and Griffin Survivor Plus Catalyst both survived the spike test but underwent the 50-pound weight test. The Lunatic Extreme and the OtterBox Defender successfully protected the phone against the 50-pound weight. The Lunatic Extreme had similar protection to the OtterBox Defender since they both have durable casings that absorb compression.

Can OtterBox Defender protect an iPhone from a 50-pound weight?

The OtterBox Defender utilized a waterproof case with three-layer protection and a swiveling belt clip. In our testing, the OtterBox Defender was able to protect the phone against the 50-pound weight, proving its effectiveness in shielding the iPhone from powerful impacts.

Which iPhone case was the winner in our testing?

Out of the four iPhone cases, only one proved to be successful in our testing: the Lunatic Extreme. It had impact trusses, a Gorilla Glass shield, and a durable casing. Despite having a broken glass case, the phone’s screen was still working, indicating that it was almost undamaged underneath.

    Conclusion

Even with their promising features, only one case – the Lunatic Extreme – effectively protected the phone against damage in our testing. As a result, it is crucial that consumers are careful in selecting an iPhone case before making a purchase. By doing so, the phone can be safeguarded against damage from drops and other accidents.
